Your Complete Guide to Styling & Fitting a Legacy Luxe Matching Set
Matching sets are one of the easiest ways to look effortlessly put together — no outfit planning required. But the two questions we hear most from our community are "How do I know what size to get?" and "What can I actually wear this to?" This guide answers both, with fit tips and real outfit ideas built around our current lineup.

How to Find Your Fit
Fit is personal, and matching sets come in a range of silhouettes — from cropped and form-fitting to oversized and relaxed. Here's how to shop with confidence:
1. Measure First, Size Second
Before checking a size chart, take three measurements: bust (fullest part of chest), natural waist, and hips (fullest part). Every set listing includes a size guide — use your measurements against it rather than going by your usual dress size, since cuts vary across styles.
2. Consider the Silhouette
Our sets fall into two broad silhouette categories:
- Fitted & Cropped — like our Black 3-Piece Cropped Leggings & Tank Set and the Autumn Red 3-Piece Set. These are cut close to the body and hit at the natural waist. If you prefer a little breathing room, size up one.
- Relaxed & Oversized — like the Dope Girl Oversized Hoodie & Sweatpants in Hot Pink and the Dark Gray version. The hoodie is intentionally roomy; the sweatpants have a drawstring waist that adjusts to fit. When in doubt, size to your top measurement for these.
3. Tops vs. Bottoms — What to Do When They Don't Match
If your top and bottom measurements land in different sizes, size to whichever piece fits the part of your body that's hardest to alter. For most people that means sizing to your hips or thighs for bottoms, and your bust for tops. Sets like the Tan Oversized Double Zipper Hoodie & Mini Skirt Set and the Pumpkin version have an oversized top, so the top is very forgiving — size to fit the skirt.
4. Check the Fabric Notes
Sets with spandex or elastane have natural stretch and typically run true to size. Woven fabrics have less give — if a set description doesn't mention stretch, size up one for comfort. Fabric details are listed in each product description.
5 Occasions, 5 Outfit Ideas
Every set in our lineup can be worn more than one way. Here are five occasions and the Legacy Luxe sets that work for each:
1. Casual Weekend Out
Keep it easy and cool. The Campfire Capri Set in Wine Red — a raglan top paired with capri leggings — is perfect for a coffee run, farmers market morning, or weekend errands. Add white sneakers and a crossbody bag and you're done.
2. Work-From-Home Comfort
You deserve to be comfortable and camera-ready. The Dope Girl Oversized Hoodie & Sweatpants in Hot Pink or the Dark Gray version gives you cozy-all-day energy without looking like you rolled out of bed. Pair with slip-on sneakers and a tote and it works for video calls too.
3. Cozy Night In (or Sleepover)
The BIG MAMA Cheetah 3-Piece Set — cardigan, tank, and leggings — is the ultimate wind-down look. Layer the cardigan over the tank when it gets chilly, or wear just the tank and leggings when you're warm. It travels well and doubles as a loungewear set away from home.
4. Going Out (Casual Chic)
The Tan Oversized Double Zipper Hoodie & Mini Skirt Set walks the line between streetwear and going-out style. Wear the hoodie halfway zipped with the mini skirt, add heeled boots and gold jewelry, and this is a full going-out look. The Pumpkin colorway is especially seasonal for fall.
5. Active Day / Light Workout
The Black 3-Piece Cropped Set and Autumn Red 3-Piece Set are built for movement — cropped top, fitted tank, and full-length leggings give you layering flexibility for walks, yoga, or a light gym session. The three-piece format means you can mix and match within the set too.
Styling Tips That Work Across All Sets
- Shoes change everything. Sneakers keep any set casual. Mules or heeled sandals elevate it instantly.
- Add a third piece. A denim jacket, trench coat, or longline cardigan worn open over a matching set adds dimension without breaking the coordinated look.
- Accessories finish the look. Keep jewelry simple — one chain, one pair of earrings — to let the set be the statement.
- Don't overdo the bag. A structured handbag or small crossbody keeps the outfit clean. A large tote is fine for casual sets; save the mini bag for going-out looks.
